 | Im so sick of people running their mouths about Michaels drug use and not putting it into context, he was being falsely accused. Knowing that Michael suffered from his injuries 10 years after the incident proves that he suffered from severe chronic pain. Many chronic pain suffers struggle with depression and if you have SAD it makes it worse. People with this condition end up having to go to Rehab to be weened off meds whether they're addicts or not.  | I disagree on the Elton issue. MJ was extremely fragile and in rehab at the time and it was Elton's psych who also looked after MJ at that time who brought him over. The whole setup was weird. It was the first time Elton was going to meet his mother in law. So the psych was going to be there, and then invited MJ along? No wonder Michael was uncomfortable. I don't know the full story but from what I understand is that people in rehab were not allowed to wear makeup. It was then he was wearing a bandaid or something on his nose. Allegedly. Karen Faye had said he would do this after beauty or surgical treatments also. Elton ridiculed it. The story could have just been about the weird setup and MJ disappearing without being derogatory.  | The thing about the Elton John dinner is that it was during the time Michael was in rehab and Elton did not put Michael's condition into context by mentioning that. Elton has a history of being very bitchy with other regards to other celebrities and this seems like just another one of those occasions. The timing of it also sucks. So no, I don't feel the need to defend Elton John here. Having said that, fans can sometimes bring even more attention on to things that don't deserve it.  | I wish you've had a little more empathy... being long-time fans one would expect it from you guys. Don't you realize it's Elton John who acts like a lunatic, and says disturbing things all the time? He is the mentally ill, not Michael. Look at HIM, look at HIS life, look at HIS decisions. By putting down others (oh they did the same thing, I ain't so bad), he's just making himself look more favorable in the public eye. Besides, he's on tour, he needs money, thus publicity! He would be ready to sell his mother at this point! Michael had serious problems with sleep, nothing else. Granted, he acted "strangely" at times, but you guys know damn well, it was ALL related to his sleeping problems and those problems started after the Pepsi incident. Have any of you burnt their scalp before and suffered from an autoimmune disease, and back problems on top of it? No? Then STOP with the bullshit, and think and feel more. Try to understand first, instead of judging right away! It's one thing to have an opinion based on well-researched facts, or knowing someone damn well, and it's another to label someone "mentally ill" based on another person's opinion or a few moments of impressions. Even if you've had the opportunity and saw Michael drowsy at times, everything had its reasons. But it doesn't mean he was mentally ill. Not at all! He was just trying to cope with his problems. He was human. So please, dwell a little on this, then talk next time! He has given you more and deserves much more respect and consideration. You guys are much better than this! Thank you.
