 | Why was the scene of the shop lady seeing the rear of the horse walking past included? That scene seemed to hint that an outsider had a truer perspective on the overall reality of the situation and that that reality is that it really was a time loop thing going on ,which would make it more of a sci-fi/fantasy movie and not a mental-illness movie, right? There's no point in saying that that scene with someone else's outside perspective was just part of Sarah's delusion. | I also recently watched Newness, 500 Days of Summer, and Excision. Every time I click a movie because Matthew Gray Gubler is in it, he has such a small role. This one was the worst offense.  | Really loved the movie and but I'm surprised at the gap between the empathy of the movie and how these actors/creators talk about it. Sounds like a "horse girl" for them is an alien they've never actually met as most of them seem to be type A popular people. When they describe her clothes as super dated or her attitude as super awkward, I didn't see that at all. She's not "very shy", she occupies the living room of the apartment she shares with a roommate to watch her shows and make her bracelets. She's not that isolated, she sounds confident when talking with customers and so on. I don't understand their description of the character.  | I'm a big fan of Alison Brie, she obviously delivered a strong performance, the movie was interesting and had great scenes throughout, but, I hate to say this, it was somewhat bland. I think I get it, maybe it went over my head because I'm not the smartest person, but what I got from the movie, didn't really move me to my core. It is entertaining, and I'll agree the sequence before she is discharged from the mental hospital was quite fascinating. Overall, solid, but not mindblowing.  | I used to volunteer for my local Mind group. This film really reminds me of the expiernces that my firend who suffered from hypormanic episodes, went through. I didnt like the ending though as thought it was a cop out to leave it at that point or to emply that what she was expierencing was real. I felt it was slightly iresponsible for it to end with her beiing completly imersed in her alternate reality, wihout a strong narritive showing what would happen next in real life.  | This film was very difficult for me to watch, my mum has paranoid schizophrenia (I am very glad that they portrayed it so well though, it's nice seeing a film that doesn't portray people like my mum like murders and generally nuts people, like they said, she does have delusions and believe that her diagnosis is a conspiracy and that she can hear the thoughts of the people around her, but other than that she is really sweet and cares so much about everyone, she was just dealt some shit cards in life) and I fear getting that bad because I have social anxiety where I think everyone around me hates me, strangers laughing can lead to me self harming and idealising suicide when I'm at my worst so although I don't have audible or visual hallucinations like people with schizophrenia, the thought process and, sometimes, the result is rather similar which makes me worry that it could end up progressing to full blown hallucinations, though I'm not actually sure if that's possible Комментарий от : @silverwatermermaid1563 |

 | My dad has schzophrenia and since I was born I've heard his stories about aliens and monsters and alternate dimensions and (even though everyone else around me always treated him as mentally ill and my mom always made it clear to me the stuff he said was just in his head), like the protagonist, there was a time I felt myself kinda losing myself pretty deep into some internet and spiritual conspiracies about the true nature of reality and stuff, even started to connect some of this stuff I was discovering with what my dad used to say when I was younger and started to consider if he may actually be the one seeing the truth and all... It's creepy to realize you're falling into a similar mental state of some older family member that you know isn't healthy, and I think this movie explores this pretty specific feeling really well.  | 5:35 when she talked about how this movie is a manifestation of her fears towards being mentally unwell it really stuck with me. I’m a 21 year old man with GED and it can lead to extreme fits of paranoia. I have a history of mental health issues in my family, and I know schizophrenia can start to show up around a person’s young adult life. It scares me a lot.  | I feel like the “horse” part of it was honestly just irrelevant af. They could have cut all of the scenes having to do with the horse and it would not have changed the movie at all. Didn’t tie together for me. I get the whole “weird horse girl” stereotype, just that wasn’t the subject of the movie whatsoever so I don’t even understand why they included it.  | I get that the movie was meant to approach mental health in a different way. The alien abductions was just a metaphor for what she was going through. But none of that was actually clear tbh. Like the marks on her body, it never explained that. The scratches on the wall, they never showed her doing that. The phone call where she heard everything beforehand, like what the fuck. I don’t know. I guess since I’m a conspiracy theorist and believe in the paranormal and aliens, I just see the movie for what it is. I really do believe she was right about it all, and people just labeled her as crazy. I’ve never experienced anything remotely close abductions or whatever, I just research a lot, and whenever I talk about my beliefs people look at me like I’m mentally ill. This movie fucked me up. I didn’t understand a lot of parts and they didn’t do a good job at explaining, they just leave you to interpret however you’d like, so each viewer has a different perspective.  | Loved this movie. Everyone involved is very much this style of out of the ordinary and not your typical commercial movie. Produced by the Duplass brothers company, directed by Baena and co written by Alison Brie, with that personal touch about her family, which after watching the movie makes sense and it's appreciated. Very intriguing, very good editing and soundtrack, it just creates its own vibe. Also just fresh and original, i'm glad Netflix bought it.  | Horse Girl - Wow! Once I questioned what was going on I realized that this was not about a young girl and her happy teen years spent enjoying her horse. I very quickly realized that this was Sarah’s descent into madness. A powerful film! The ending left me feeling quite emotional. Very hard watching someone having a true psychotic break from reality. When I first read the title, I told my 8 year old neighbor that this movie might be fun to watch. Luckily I glanced at a review that made me realize that this is not a movie for kids!
