 | A month ago I bought a 2014 Corolla L with the 4-speed auto w/ 78k miles. During the first 10 minutes of driving on the freeway, the transmission downshifts extremely hard when going from 4th to 3rd when I'm going around 55mph. I took it back to the Toyota dealership I bought it from and they couldn't find the problem. A couple weeks ago I had to disconnect the battery for an hour and since then the problem went away. I live in New Zealand and have a 2008 Toyota Hiace with a 3 liter Turbo Diesel, with Variable Vane technology, it is a 1KD-FTV engine. So far it has had: 2x Turbochargers replaced, as a rebuilt one failed $5000 2 x differentials, as a rebuilt by Toyota one failed in 6 months $2000 1 x plastic manifold inlet pipe replaced with metal upgrade one as known problem $500 1 x DPF Diesel Particulate Filter system removed and reprogrammed....to hard to fix $1500 1 EGR Exhaust Gas Reticulation valve system replaced due to DPF failure $800 4 x injection valve seats replaced must do every 45,000km $800 1 x EGR and inlet manifold remove and shot blast clean $800 Now the Turbo stepper motor is failing AGAIN, there is a coolant leak they cannot find, there is a water leak into drivers foot-well they cannot find. It has done about 220000km which is about 140000miles You have to CONSTANTLY feed it injection cleaner and lubricant and change the fuel filer every oil change to keep it happyish.... IT IS A MARE!  | Question. Oil Change every 5000 miles. I'd like to know the grade of oil. I use Mobil. There's mobil1, Mobil xhp (mineral oil- mostly used in these parts because of out hot weather), Mobil 2000.  | Here it's 2020 (I know, but I am typing as of) I still driving my Toyota 1999 Le model. The engine run fine & same old transmission. ON the flip side. upper hose power steering, needs replacing, power window (3 only) don't work, sun/moon roof need motor to be replace, control arm (driver side) is loose (busted screws) & paint still holding on. Some rust spots. Maybe sell for about (mil: 189,500) under 2k. Head lights needs to be replace too. Oh well. I'm satisfy. (Original) Alternator yea, same one too.
